Who We Are
At Body & Soul, we provide high-quality, church-based exercise classes that care for the whole person.
We believe that wellbeing is about more than physical fitness, so our classes are designed to support your physical, mental and spiritual health in a welcoming and encouraging environment.
Our Christian faith inspires the way we care for people, but there is no expectation that you share our beliefs to join a class. People of all faiths and none are warmly welcome.
Why people choose Body & Soul
At Body & Soul, we're committed to making exercise accessible, enjoyable and welcoming for everyone. Whether you're new to exercise, returning after a break, or looking for a supportive community, you'll find a place where you are valued, encouraged and celebrated.
Our classes are:
Open to everyone – regardless of age, fitness level or faith. Everyone is welcome.
Accessible to all – we operate on a donation basis, so cost is never a barrier to taking part.
Community-focused – we believe exercise is better together. Expect a warm welcome, genuine hospitality and a place where friendships can grow alongside confidence and wellbeing.
Encouraging and inclusive – every person's journey is different, and every step forward is worth celebrating.
At Body & Soul, we believe that caring for our bodies, minds and souls enables us to flourish. Our hope is that every person who walks through our doors leaves feeling healthier, encouraged and connected.
Meet the Team
Hi, I'm Charles!
I'm a CIMSPA-accredited Level 3 Personal Trainer and Gym Instructor with a degree in Sports Coaching, and I've spent many years leading group exercise classes for people of all ages and abilities.
Juliet (below) and I started Body & Soul because we know first-hand the difference that caring for your body, mind and spirit can make. I'm passionate about helping others discover the confidence, strength and joy that come from moving more and being part of a supportive community.
Hi, I’m Juliet!
I am the Vicar of St Luke’s Eltham and a CIMSPA-accredited Level 4 Personal Trainer and Gym Instructor.
My ministry has included serving as both a school chaplain and a parish priest in South East London. Alongside this, I have worked as a fitness instructor, leading outdoor boot camps as well as church based accessible exercise classes.
I am passionate about helping people discover that Body & Soul is for every-body and I love coaching participants to become healthier and stronger - not only in physical strength, but also in confidence, wellbeing and faith.

We offer high-quality, church-based exercise classes that care for the whole person - body, mind and soul. We also offer resources, training and support to any churches that want to run Body & Soul in their church, and to any individuals looking to start getting active, or anyone wanting to progress in their training.

We combine physical health with mental and spiritual health. This holistic approach is unique in the fitness industry and sets us apart. We also are driven by making exercise accessible to all people. In every class we provide adaptations to each exercise so that regardless of your fitness level, you can take things easier or train harder if you like. This personalised approach means that everyone is valued and cared for. It’s not just what we do—it’s how we do it that sets us apart.
-
We want to make exercise accessible - so we work on a ‘pay what you can, when you can’ basis to suit all budgets. We therefore take donations ranging from £1 - £10 per class, and attendees are able to pay the amount that suits their budget. There are no joining fees or contracts - we want to offer high-quality classes at an affordable price.
-
Classes are led by our trained Body & Soul Coaches. Every coach has a CIMSPA accredited Level 2 qualification as a minimum, and they have also received Body & Soul bespoke training.
-
Classes are currently running at St’ Luke’s Eltham Park (SE9 1XQ) and Christ Church Surbiton Hill (KT5 8JJ).
